“The Age of Adaline” is a 2015 romantic film directed by Lee Toland Krieger and written by Salvador Paskowitz and J. Mills Goodloe. The movie follows the story of Adaline Bowman, a woman who stops aging after surviving an accident in the 1930s. From then on, Adaline lives a lonely life for decades to avoid revealing her secret, but as luck may have it, she meets a handsome gentleman named Ellis.
Adaline’s world starts spiraling after Ellis comes into it. She knows she cannot afford to have a normal relationship with him, but at the same time, she just can’t afford to let him go. Thus, she experiences turmoil in her entire life when she falls in love with him, leading her to grapple with the possibility of her secret surfacing to him and the consequences it may bring to her solitary life. She faces two choices: embracing love with Ellis or persisting in seclusion.
Contrary to what some viewers may assume, “The Age of Adaline” is not based on a novel, even though the plot of the romantic fantasy seems rather bookish. The film is an original screenplay, which distinguishes itself through its innovative storytelling and character evolution.
Its clear-cut narrative combines pieces of romance, drama, and fiction, which is a captivating combination for the audience. It’s an exciting movie that takes viewers through a rollercoaster of emotions: love, loss, fear, and uncertainty. Moreover, the absence of source material makes the film more unpredictable and quite intriguing. The unexpected plot twists make the film and characters stand out from regular romantic fantasies.
In conclusion, “The Age of Adaline” is not based on a book but I’ll definitely say it’s a fantastic movie to watch, especially if you are looking for something adventurous with a little bit of science. Blake Lively beautifully portrays her character, Adaline, with grace and poise, thereby making the movie quite interesting. You can watch “The Age of Adaline” movie on Amazon Prime.
Well, there’s a significant shift in her life enabling her to embrace a natural aging process and just maybe, a future with Ellis Jones.
The movie is not based on a true story but rather, it’s an original screenplay perfectly crafted to seem like it really happened in real life.
Adaline was 29 years old when she died. After being brought back to life by a lightning strike, she remained 29 years old for decades, never aging.
Adaline never aged because of the lightning that striked her after she got an accident.
The film contained snippets of emotional moments and I would say its an amazing movie for anyone who loves emotional scenes.
